Dr. Russon grew up catching snakes and lizards in the deserts and mountains of Utah. He earned two degrees from Utah State University; one in Wildlife Science and one in Animal Science, including a job for the Utah State Fish and Game Department in between degrees. He graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and followed this with an internship at the Denver zoo, which he absolutely loved. His marriage to an U.S. Army officer took him all over the country, including jobs in Idaho, Utah, Michigan, Colorado, Washington, and four glorious years in Alaska. After four years in a holistic veterinary practice in Baltimore he joined Cumberland Valley Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 1999 and has loved working here ever since. Dr. Russon has two children, Jody and Gina. He enjoys golf, ice-skating, hockey, cycling, hiking, opera, art history, and theater.
